Institutional Student Need Analysis Worksheet (ISNAW)
Financial Aid and Scholarships (FAS) is responsible for determining the financial aid award package for which a student is eligible, based on the information provided on the FAFSA, application date, and fund availability. The FAFSA cannot be used to determine need for international students because an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) will not calculate for non-eligible non-citizens. Therefore, the ISNAW is needed to determine international students’ financial need for need-based scholarships and grants at KU. International students who want to be considered for need-based scholarships, the KU International Student Tuition Grant, the Athletic Special Assistance Fund, Hixson, and/or the Child Care Grant must complete the form for the appropriate academic year/summer term and return it to the FAS.
KU students unable to complete the FAFSA due to citizenship status.
Students unable to complete a FAFSA due to citizenship status must download the appropriate worksheet (see Related Documents below), complete the worksheet and submit it to the FAS.
If any necessary fields are left blank or conflicting information exists, the student will be notified by email and asked to submit documentation that will clarify the information.
Once the worksheet has been processed and the student has been determined to be eligible for aid, the FAS will award the student, providing funds are available.
