To describe the responsibility of the Department of Human Resources in determining eligibility for hire or rehire of individuals seeking employment in staff and student hourly positions at the University of Kansas, Lawrence

Applies to: 

All prospective staff or student hourly employees at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and its reporting units

Policy Statement: 

The Department of Human Resources (HR) determines the eligibility for hire or rehire of individuals seeking University employment in staff and in student hourly positions. Like any other employer, HR may make such determinations based, for example, on information about past convictions, employment history and/or status, and/or employment references. Persons denied eligibility for employment may discuss this status with the Director of HR or designee.
