The following policies are included:
Kansas Board of Regents Commitment of Time, Conflict of Interest, Consulting and Other Employment Policy
The purpose of this policy is to (1) educate about situations that generate conflicts; (2) provide means for faculty and unclassified staff and the university to manage real or apparent conflicts; (3) promote best interests of students and others whose work depends on faculty direction; and (4) describe situations that are prohibited.
Institutional Conflict of Interest Policy
The purpose of this policy is to mitigate institutional conflicts (at each research foundation and the university) and to avoid the creation of other personal conflicts with regard to a Research Foundation's equity holdings.
Inventor Conflict of Interest Policy, Management of
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the mission of the university is not compromised and that research integrity and objectivity is held to the highest standards, an employee's outside activities with regard to university research and transfer of the university's technology must be disclosed, reviewed and managed with appropriate oversight.
Individual Financial Conflict of Interest Policy
The purpose of this policy is to describe the responsibility for reporting individual significant financial interests and the institutional responsibility for evaluating disclosed interests and managing potential individual financial conflicts of interest.
Technology Transfer Revenue Distribution Policy
The purpose of this policy is to describe the protocol for distributing revenue as a result of technology transfer.
Employment of Students in Faculty-Owned Businesses Policy
The purpose of this policy is to describe the conditions under which students may be employed by companies in which faculty members hold an ownership interest, including the requirement to complete a disclosure agreement.
