Institutional Student Need Analysis Worksheet (ISNAW)
Financial Aid and Scholarships (FAS) is responsible for determining the financial aid award package for which a student is eligible, based on the information provided on the FAFSA, application date, and funds available. An EFC will not calculate for non-eligible non-citizens, so the FAFSA cannot be used. Therefore, another mechanism is needed to determine these students’ financial need for need-based scholarships and grants at KU. This mechanism is the Institutional Student Need Analysis Worksheet. International students who want to be considered for need-based scholarships, the KU International Student Tuition Grant, the Athletic Special Assistance Fund, Hixson, and/or the Child Care Grant must complete the form for the appropriate academic year/summer term and return it to FAS.
KU students unable to complete the FAFSA due to citizenship status.
Students unable to complete a FAFSA due to citizenship status must download the appropriate worksheet (see Related Documents below), complete the worksheet and submit it to FAS.
Once the worksheet is submitted, if any corrections need to be made, the student must update and initial the original worksheet or submit a new worksheet.
If any necessary fields are left blank or conflicting information exists, the student will be notified by email and asked to submit documentation that will clarify the information.
Once the worksheet has been processed and the student has been determined to be eligible for aid, FAS will award the student, providing funds are available.
